Marriott folgt dem Wettbewerb und vollzieht den nächsten Schritt bei flexiblen Einlösungsraten für Prämienbuchungen.
Bei einigen Vielfliegerprogrammen wäre die Umstellung nichts Besonderes mehr. Sie bieten bereits ein dynamisches Preissystem bei Einlösungen für Prämienflüge an. In der Hotellerie folgt Marriott wie angekündigt Hilton, die bereits ein vergleichbar dynamisches System implementiert haben. Im neuen Jahr folgt der Großteil bei der bereits angekündigten und in Teilen erfolgten Umstrukturierung. Das hat zur Folge, dass meist teure Hotels mit eher günstigen Punktewerten als Sweetspots die Seltenheit werden.
Nächster Schritt im neuen Jahr
Das wohl lohnenswerte am Sammeln von Punkten ist deren Einlösung – so auch bei Marriott Bonvoy, dem Loyalitätsprogramm der Hotelkette Marriott. Am attraktivsten sind diese im Zusammenhang mit Freinächten und bei der Bezahlung von Aufenthalten. Da Marriott seine Hotelmarken in Kategorien unterteilt, gab es auch bei der Einlösung von Gratis-Nächten bereits verschiedene Abstufungen, unterteilt in Nebensaison, Standard und Hauptsaison. Die Punktewerte für die jeweiligen Kategorien waren bislang jedoch fix. Das wird sich jedoch zum Jahreswechsel endgültig ändern. Erste Maßnahmen ergriff Marriott bereits zum 29. März dieses Jahres.
So wurde am 29. März 2022 bereits die allgemeine Umstellung auf flexible Einlösungsraten vollzogen. Die drei bereits zuvor genannten Kategorien entfallen seitdem gänzlich und wurden durch flexible Werte ersetzt, die sich an die jeweilige Verfügbarkeit der Hotels zu den gesuchten Daten richten. Die neuen Punktewerte wurden schrittweise infolgedessen angepasst. Marriott Bonvoy versichert, dass lediglich drei Prozent aller Hotels von den dynamischen Preisen betroffen sein sollen. Das betrifft konkret 200 Hotels aus dem Portfolio, in denen die Punktewerte zwischen 5.000 und 30.000 Punkten über dem aktuellen Maximum liegen sollen.

Die Punktewerte der restlichen 97 Prozent aller Hotels werden sich zwischen den derzeitigen Werten und den Peak-Raten orientieren. Die vollständige Umstellung erfolgt demnach tatsächlich erst im darauffolgenden Jahr 2023. Dann sollen sich die Punkte an den jeweiligen Raten orientieren, die zu den entsprechenden Tagen aufgerufen werden. Darüber hinaus will Marriott Bonvoy gewährleisten, dass selbst in den exklusivsten Hotels der Kette flexible Einlösungsraten angeboten werden sollen. Bereits seit April 2022 können Mitglieder ihren Free Night Award mit 15.000 Punkten für eine Prämienübernachtung kombinieren. Zudem soll es keine Änderungen beim Punktesammeln geben, wie Marriott versichert.
Fazit zur Umstellung bei Marriott Bonvoy
Marriott Bonvoy wird mit dem Jahreswechsel endgültig auf ein dynamisches Punktesystem umstellen. Bislang waren im Jahr 2022 nur eine Handvoll Hotels betroffen, dennoch hat sich bereits dabei herauskristallisiert, wie die Punktewerte sich tatsächlich ändern. Sweetspots bei den hochpreisigen Hotels werden mehr und mehr verschwinden, aber nicht gänzlich abgeschafft, wie Marriott garantiert. Marriott Bonvoy wird seine Mitglieder damit auffordern, mehr Arbeit in die Suche nach den besten Preisen und Punktewerten zu investieren.

Hi, Könnt Ihr schon ein erstes Resumee ziehen? Ich hab den Eindruck, dass die Preise in den benannten Hotels (insbesondere Lieser) nahezu explodiert sind. Bei Lieser sind es statt 35k mittlerweile häufig 60k.
PS: Auf LoyaltyLobby kann man ein PDF mit den Hotels und den veränderten Punkten herunterladen. Es sind ein paar schönes Hotels wie das dabei, was schade ist, aber auch noch halbwegs nachvollziehbar, wie z.B. beim W Verbier ist. Für alle mit vielen Punkten auf dem Konto lohnt sich die Liste definitiv.
Könnt Ihr die Liste der 200 Hotels veröffentlichen, oder dazu eine Link teilen? Vielleicht macht es Sinn noch vor dem 29.3 zu buchen.
